Larry Kudlow, the economic adviser to President Donald Trump, had a heart attack Monday in Washington, D.C., the president announced on Twitter.
"Our Great Larry Kudlow, who has been working so hard on trade and the economy, has just suffered a heart attack. He is now in Walter Reed Medical Center," Trump tweeted from Singapore.
Later in the evening, the White House clarified that Kudlow suffered a "mild" heart attack and is in stable condition.
"Larry is currently in good condition at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and his doctors expect he will make a full and speedy recovery," Sarah Huckabee Sanders, the White House press secretary, said in the statement.
According to The New York Times, Kudlow had been feeling ill on Monday and uncharacteristically did not respond to calls and emails on Sunday.
